Canice Eshiebor, PharmD, Class of 2016
Canice Eshiebor was first introduced to Bulldog Pride and the many ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē experiences through her older sister, who attended ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē a few years before her. Seeing it as a wonderful experience for her sister, Canice knew that Navarro College would treat her just as well. āAll the college experiences that you think you wouldnāt experience at a community college. ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē provided it all for [my sister]ā reflects Canice. Canice made her college experience her very own within ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē. Now a Doctor of Pharmacy, Canice obtained a majority of her prerequisite courses at ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē in addition to numerous other opportunities that have best prepared her for a career in medicine.
Canice is originally from Nigeria, where she completed primary school there before enrolling at ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē. In a recent interview, Canice further details her time at Navarro, āĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē was my transition into the states. It was challenging, of course, but Navarro made it easy. Everyone was so supportive. I never felt out of place, like I was somewhere I shouldnāt be. Navarro taught me that whatever I put my mind to is within reach, that I can do it. Each and every one of the professors was helpful to me.ā
From ĀŅĀ×ŗ£½Ē Canice transferred to Texas Tech University to pursue an undergraduate degree and Pharm.D. In 2019, she was awarded the substantial Victor and Oby Nwankwo scholarship by Ral Obioha Law, PLLC, a scholarship fund dedicated to foreign-born students pursuing higher education in the U.S.. Now a practicing pharmacist in the DFW area, Canice has made accessibility in rural healthcare her passion within the field of medicine and pharmacology, with a focus on independent, small-town pharmacies providing patients with the help and medicine they need.
